The Game of the Day is back, and it's back with with good cheer! Kitten Cannon or Kitty Cannon (as it's often called) is an oldie but a goodie. In Kitten Cannon, you control your small kitty cannon and fire your unsuspecting kitty across a field trying to get your feline friend as far as you can. Along your kitty's path are power ups and hazards that will add or hinder your kitty's progress. The game is funny, good humored and will hopefully bring you a laugh or two.
Please note: No one at Games.com - The Blog! advocates cruelty to animals. In fact, I was the last hold out on getting a cat. Everyone here is a cat owner and lover of cats in general. My cat's name is The Colonel --> Check him out here.

HSN Arcade: Come for the jewelry, stay to play free games
HSN, formerly known as the Home Shopping Network, gets game. Now, in addition to luring potential customers in to buy deeply discounted jewelry, handbags, et al, the website will soon offer a suite of 25 games, which will be inserted directly into the shopping experience. That means, you'll be able to visit the site, watch HSN streaming video, shop for stuff and play a game -- all on the same page. Talk about sensory overload (or shopping heaven, depending on your POV).
"The launch of HSN Arcade is a strategic move to further differentiate the HSN shopping experience.... by combining what people currently do online more than any other activities: shopping, gaming and sharing," Jill Braff, EVP of Digital Commerce for HSN says.
The New York-based Arkadium (the creator of Mahjongg Dimensions and Writer's Blox on Facebook) will be providing the games for HSN.com, which will include daily jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, word search, sudoku, blackjack and a new game called Lights! Camera! Subtraction! that stars HSN celebrities. New games will be added based on user feedback. Players will be to earn badges for playing games, be able to compare scores via leaderboard and share scores via Facebook wall posts.
HSN.com is one of several big online destinations that have added special game areas over the past few years, including Oxygen, USA Network and People.com. When you consider how much time people spend playing these types of 'casual' games (for instance, people spend an average of 40 minutes playing Mahjongg on Games.com), combined with the recent Newzoo survey that shows 66% of all people online play casual games -- it only makes sense that everyone's trying to tap into games to create a more intriguing online experience.
HSN Arcade is set for launch on June 1. Visit HSN.com for more details.

Game of the Day: Snow Lemmings
"Hey dude."
"Hey man, you have something on your shoulder, let me get that for y- WHOAAA!"
And that's how it all started. Two snow lemmings on a cliff take one wrong step and are sent careening down the snowy slopes. Maneuver the runaway lemming snowball to pick up additional lemmings. Carefully dodge trees and boulders to save the lemmings from their almost certain doom. Can you save the lemmings after their deadly slip?
Click here to play Snow Lemmings!

Pro Tips:
Don't go too fast! While still a beginner, go slowly down the course. Once you get a feel for how the lemmings handle you can start zooming down the mountain.
When you see a tree warning, slow down and wait for a piece of flat ground before the tree. Leap off that bit of ground, hold forward, and clear it with ease.
When you see a boulder, try to jump over it without touching it at all. If you don't think you're going to clear it, simply hit it from behind once. This will prevent you from losing lemmings down the mountain when you get repeatedly hit by the boulder.

Fact: Women who play online games have more sex
Yes, it's true, says a new survey by Harris Interactive for GameHouse. Women who play online games are not only a little older, a little happier but they're also making whoopie more often than those who don't play games. Hel-lo Mrs. Robinson.
"Maybe if we all watched a little less TV and played more games online, we'd all be having a little more sex," GameHouse Chief Gamer Matt Hulett says. "Joking aside, this survey matches up with our internal data that women are widely embracing online games with 63% of GameHouse players being women. It's nice to know that females who play online games are happy – both in their relationships and even in the bedroom."
OK, so if you take a closer look at the numbers in the infographic (below), only a small percentage of people in this group have sex more than your typical non-game playing woman. But even a slight change in amorous activities may be reason enough to start playing FarmVille or the umpteen other free online games.
The survey also says ladies who play games online have better relationships -- 64% are married or living with someone, 70% are happy with those relationships and about half of the respondants say playing games make them feel both happier and smarter.
As an added bonus, lady online gamers generally do not fit the sedentary, overweight gamer stereotype. In fact, they are just as physically active as someone who doesn't play online games. What kind of activity does that entail? Apparently, workouts both outside and inside the boudoir.
Check out more factoids from the survey in the infographic below.

Game of the Day: Pop & Drop
pop and drop game of the dayA herd of colored balls is headed your way, and unless you act quickly, they'll drop right on top of you! Pop all the colored balls before they reach you by creating sets of three or more.
Pop & Drop features two awesome game modes: action mode and the strategy-based perpetual mode. I promise you though, you'll be kept on your toes regardless of what mode you play. Make sure to use the special power pieces to help you rack up the big points.

Pro Tips:
* Pop & Drop shows you where your next shot is going to land. This is an invaluable tool! With it you can line up insanely tight shots through gaps, enabling you to hit those huge combos.
* Bank balls off the walls. As I said before, Pop & Drop shows you where your next ball will land, even for banked shots. Use it to access those hard to reach places.
* Be precise! When the balls are closing in, don't fire wildly. Calm down and make sure you hit an intelligent shot. For example, don't just shoot the ball onto the first level, or you'll need two more balls of the same color to knock it off. Instead, stack it onto another color so when you knock that set off, both colors will pop.
* When all hope is lost, and the colored ball armada is knocking on your door, don't forget to use your arsenal of destructive grenades.
